this is the interests page! here you're gonna be seeing my ramblings about a buuunch of the things im incredibly tismed and Criminally insane about. i am sorry in advance. expect some way to jump to different categories up here soon. these guys wont be buttons btw theyre just here

honestly, i don't even know where to start, so i'm just gonna kick off with the one thing i know i can:

SUBJECT 1:

Okay Actually Bad Idea because Where do I begin with this now.

I. So. So. To preface. I'm just gonna state that I'm what you could call a

Mario Autist!

(which means I am incredibly hyperfixed on the Mario franchise in general. as you could probably tell by now based off Quite a few things on this website actually!)

Like I'm just gonna go from the top. Being born in 2009 into your average family of
1. American
2. Nintendo console-owning
3. Nerds™,
the first video game I ever got to play was New Soup Wii. This did irreparable damage to my brain as a wee lad. Whoops!

Now, as any impressionable young child would, I immediately became incredibly infatuated with That Pesky Plumber and at the ripe age of Three (I Think) I got my very own Nintendo DSi. (i know it had to be when I was at least 3 because i got a matte blue dsi and those came out in mid 2012.) oh yeah and then the year immediately after that I got a 3DS . So the next Mario games I had really played by then were New Soup DS and 3D Land.
I should also mention my father had modded our family Wii, which gave me access to the rest of the Mario library on the console. I didn't put that much time into those though... Except maybe #SuperPaperMario 😄 #Yep #ImAnSPMEnjoyer 🌈
(I also got to play the Wii rerelease of Super Mario All-Stars, which was my first experience with SMB1, 2, USA, and 3)

Now it should be duly noted that after that point I just kind of played whatever Mario games came out after that point. I've kept mostly up-to-date with the mainline games (i still have to play through the RPGs, i know they're rad ESPECIALLY Legend of the 7 Stars) and there was really only a few select games I didn't really get into like New Soup U and Captain Toad

(...though I did eventually get around to NSMBU later, and I'm still playing through it on the Deluxe version. I don't know why I didn't play it before!!! It's still a perfectly inoffensive Mario game!! Maybe it was just stupid child me's attention span lol)
(By the way I don't think I'm going to get to say it anywhere else, but I am a New Super Mario Bros defender. All 4 of those games are really good regardless of artistic direction.)

my NSMBU savefile as of September 18th, 2025. Just over halfway done with the game actually.

After the release of Super Mario Maker, my memory kinda gets foggy, actually... As far as I know, my Mario hyperfix kind of died down during the late 2010's. It's not like I suddenly hated Mario, but I wasn't crazy into the franchise like before... Really the only thing of note being that I still got the new games during this period like Maker 2 and 3D All-Stars, and I was also an avid fan of SMB35 before they hung Mario by the gallows...
It took a pretty good long while for the hyperfix to come back in full swing... mainly because during this period of time I had actually Gained Sentience and began Thinking On My Own at the age of About Eleven. which, between the Other things that happened in 2020 and whatnot, gave me some time to find some other interests of mine (which i'll detail later on in this page!) ...in the meantime though, I did take the time to do the occasional thing in Mari0 or whatnot, just small interactions with the series, frankly.
2023 really marked the year I got back-back into Mario, mainly because of the announcement and release of Wonder. This game really reignited my love for the series ... not like the metaphorical flame ever actually went out, but it definitely made me dig it out of the back of my brain. I know this because I'm capable of remembering all of this off of the top of my head and I can mostly rattle off Mario lore whenever I'm asked of it. Hi :)

Now I'm gonna be honest with you. Genuinely forgot if there was anything more I was going to touch on. That kinda covers everything I wanted to talk about at least as far as I'm aware. It's also been like, a week since I wrote anything on this page (before I started writing these last 3 paragraphs, all I had was up to Mario being hung.) All I'll say is that I'm not just gonna start rattling off my Mario knowledge here unprompted. Maybe I'll have a chart of my favorite stuff or something ... that sounds cool ...

marlee's table of her favorite mario stuff

there'll probably be more added here soon i frankly um. dont. know what more to put here

Charactertie between Luigi, Yoshi, Birdo, and Wario
EnemyDry Bones and Wiggler
GameSuper Mario 3D Land
MusicBrobot Battle - Super Paper Mario
Powerup
(gameplay-wise)
Ice or Bubble Flower
Powerup

Metal Cap, Goomba's Shoe

You've made it to the bottom of the Mario section. Before I immediately jump to what comes next, I'd like to show cool souvenirs of my Mario hyperfix over the years that I have lying around...

This is a photo of my entire Mario plush collection from ...I think 2020? 2021? It's pretty old, that's all I know.

A tier list of every single (mainline and non-mainline, not including the really esoteric ones) Mario game. Made this in early January 2025.
Hi just realized this tierlist didn't have the Mario Artist games as options, but it had Mario Paint what??? This sucks actually wtf

Speaking of really esoteric Mario games, here's My Personal List:tm: of what I'd consider to be the mainline Mario games. Because everyone has one of those, right?

SUBJECT 2:

My very first exposure to anything related to Team Fortress 2 was through the very last shot of the timeless YouTube Poop known as "Hotel Mario - Ultimate Bloopers". Through a Pootis joke.

Fast forward to around 2019, Heavy is Dead comes out and becomes popular, parodies are made, et cetera, so on and so forth, and by March of 2020 I had played Team Fortress 2. I already wasn't normal beforehand, but this is what sent me past the point of no return.

by the way actually i started playing it actively in like, March of 2021. the first time I booted the game i was on my main pc at the time (shoddy old laptop) and it changed my resolution like most source games do by default and it scared me and i didnt play it for like 7 months LOL

Now I'll be frank. Given I've only been playing the game for about 5 years as of reading this, I don't nearly have the same amount of history with this game as I do Mario, so there'll be a lot less to write about here. Though, good lord I made the most of this hyperfixation when I first got into it. There was a time in which I found the Boston Basher description to be the funniest damn thing in the world.

These were good times.

Anyways Right. Right. Um. So you know how my Mercenary says I first booted the game on February 29th, 2020 right. And in the italics below that I said I picked the game back up 7 months later. Yeah so I really actually first played the game during Scream Fortress of that year—I know this because the Very Next thing in my inventory is a Soul Gargoyle.

And it's a Joyous one at that. It's collected 10277 souls as of writing this. Big big fan of Scream Fortress. Anywho, in terms of my memory, what I CAN tell you is that the image of going onto the PC downstairs and attempting to boot up this "TF2" game for the first time in almost a year just to be met with Heavy on the spooky Halloween background was an incredibly formative experience for me.

Um
I Also have No idea if Scream Fortress was actually the first time I played TF2, because it says the very first match I ever played was on Pier???? And that was during February 2021???

Though, knowing me, I probably just spent that session of the game playing the Training Mode and then called it quits. Who Knows!
What I do know is when I decided I had had enough of Text communication is not availible for this account, because what Steam does keep track of is your purchase history. The only way you could give your account the capability of using chat as a free-to-play during the whole bot crisis situation was to buy something on the Mann Co. store—and surprisingly, I knew enough about the game to know exactly what to get first.

this video is from May 16th, 2021. I actually got this taunt on March 27th of that year, but this is the very first recorded video of any of my TF2 gameplay. I figure its sentimental value makes up for the date innacuracy.

sorry i remembered i made this 4 years ago had to put this in here too. my very first sfm creation

Okay. so I was thinking over "hrm! well what other important things happened in my early years of playing tf2!" and then I Remembered... i was part of oWn Rebirth ....

Basically for context, oWn was a TF2 thing that started from a series of SFM animations and then got really popular, then there was a big fandom and people began making clans regarding it, I think(?) there was an official one but I'm unsure, anyways long story short 8 or so years ago a group called oWn: The Rebirth was made, and I joined it in early 2022 after one of my friends did.
I should state now. This group is essentially one big larp-fest ran by 2 people that 99% definitely have superiority complexes and massive bias. They call themselves the emperors of the group. And they're also together. This is where the bias comes from but this also serves as the context for why a TF2 clan has an entire fucking chart for its power structure made in Excel.

Oh my god.
Anyways, with that context of this TF2 clan. Based off of SFM animations. Made by members of its fandom. Completely fanmade. 3 years after the series ended. That has a full charted-out power structure. Do you wanna know where I fell. On the power structure. After I joined and wanted to be part of the clan and engage in scrimmages and stuff.

They put me. The engineer main with not even a year of experience. In the highest rank of their Fake Team Fortress 2 Larping Military. The best of the best. Me. Looking back on this is so funny because they put a goddamn 13 year old that still essentially had the lollipop and propeller hat on into their highlander team meant to "guard the emperor and empress" and "storm servers to take under their control" . If I had to give a physical description of what I think I looked like during all of this It'd probably be this:

Sighs. Those were the days though. I remember staying home alone to do scrimmages and stuff and pulling off all sorts of dumb moves 'cuz Again only a year of experience at that point. During writing this I got talking to the old coach of ours, who was a fellow Engineer main, and he told me that he actually mainly chose team members based upon not skill, but willingness to improve and whatnot. Which is fair. I have improved and learned quite a bit through him and since then, so I guess I was the right choice in a cosmic sort of way.
The only remaining video I have (too lazy to try looking for any more) of me actively playing in an oWn scrimmage is This:

This clip dump is 23 seconds long. It has 5 clips, totalling 3 frags, one clip where I die stupidly, one clip where it cuts off before I die stupidly, and one of the frags isn't even ontopic. Truly my magnum opus. And also a good reprsentation of what my gameplay Actually Seriously looked like. This was me trying my Absolute Darndest at the ripe age of 13. I was so good at this game.

Anyhow. Fast forwards to a few months later, and I have the next incredibly formative experience of this point in my 10 Stages Of Every TF2 Player: being called a nazi in a trade_minecraft_realms server. This sounds like a bit but I'm serious
This was due to me having the clan tag in my username, and upon asking for further context because I literally didn't know at the time, apparently the leaders of oWn Rebirth aren't the best people ever. I really won't go into it here, but following that and having a few friends of mine banned for next to no reason other than """disrespect""" (questioning the "empress" on why she randomly told them to fuck off) I decided to leave oWn.
Now, I was a little frazzled for a good while after leaving oWn due to, as aforementioned, having TF2 be drilled into my head, at an age where I wasn't yet conscious still, attempting to fight against competitive players in a competitive setting whilst playing one of the classes that takes the most rational thinking.
. It's whatever though really lol. In fact, that whole thing of us being pitted against comp players was mainly to prove a point. In the same conversation with my old Engie coach, he said he had us fight against his old competitive friends mainly to send the message that oWn was kinda up its own ass and thought they were WAY better at TF2 than they actually were. Which is true! We sucked! Lesson learned, I suppose.

In any case, I've been out of oWn Rebirth for the last... almost 4 years? June 2026 it'll be 4 years about. I've been talking about this for way too long and I should probably change subjects, so I'll just end this part by saying that I am Incredibly incredibly thankful for my good aquaintance millymae12 for getting me the HELL out of oWn. Lord knows where I'd be if I didn't get out of there sooner. Probably in the same spot, actually, I probably would've realized how they were at some point or another. Or not, I don't know. Play on her server sodapop.tf btw it rules

Now. Clasps my hands together. Not much else after that frankly. I started getting a lot better at TF2 in the time after that, so I started making a lot more videos, and I namely got my hands on Open Fortress, introducing me to TF2's sourcemods community and some of my bestest chums. Nice place here.

section addendum:

VALVE games and Source Engine in general

Ok So. TF2 was the first Source game I played. In fact it was actually the first Valve game I played. Listen I made my Steam account for Bendy ok I genuinely forgot what I was playing on there before I picked up TF2
This has kickstarted a chain of events leading to the worst: I'm A Huge Nerd Now ! ! ! ! (and also I've played peak gaming (half life 2 chapter Sandtraps))
I haven't got much specfically to say about Source Engine (other than the fact that I'm the person that ported the Mario Wonder model to the SFM workshop, hi) but what I DO have a lot to talk about is

INTERLOPER

You probably already knew this if you recognized the GAQ9 button on the front page. If you did, this means I also get to call you a nerd hah
But no seriously I'm so tismed about this series you have no idea. Like. Visibly shaking (she is thinking about the Umbrella Man) i DUNNO man this whole like. the shut down server?? the dynamic npcs with consciousnesses?? the spooky videos???? The general impressiveness of it all??? It fucking rules??? I love love love Interloper if you're an interloperhead PLEASE put that on your post in the guestbook if you haven't already. Also Skyghost my beloved. I love Skyghost. She's so cool. Here's my Skyghost fanart Thanks
