Alex is a (mostly) well-kept young feline that happens to be the center of their whole friend group. This means everyone comes to them for nearly everything, so they're a bit irritable all the time. They don't like to be mean though, and sadly they're quite a people pleaser. They mellow out in casual conversation and when they're not really needed for anything, and as short-tempered as they may come off being, they're a big softie under all the rough edges.
They're also quite easy to scare. If you jump out at them from behind a door they may or may not be out of the nearest window within the next 4 seconds. Handle with care! D:
Alex lives with their grandmother alongside their brother Simon. Typically when they're at home, their time is ...being killed, doing menial tasks just to keep themselves entertained. Typically, rearranging drawers or sharpening knives in their garage. They take a large interest in mechanics and computers (haha nerd) and if they're not killing time with menial tasks they're almost definitely in the garage tinkering with something they found in the junkyard on the outskirts of town. If they aren't home, they're almost definitely with a friend or out working part-time at the town's local ice cream joint.
Betty's quite the odd fellow, being a weird freak of nature and all, alongside being part of the catalyst to the town she lives in being cursed... but frankly, they don't really care. He's got friends who care about them and he's usually out of any sort of danger, so they're happy. She's pretty laid-back, almost always somewhat sleepy or out of it in some way...Which means he's also not the biggest fan of getting too excited or being surrounded by too many loud sounds, etc. Give the little man a break...
With the "being a freak" part and generally being closed off outside of their friend group, she's always very happy to meet folks who like her, being a little clingy around new people.
Frankly she doesn't really do much, spending most of her time either sleeping or trying to find decor for her home...Of which is a dumpster behind the pizza joint on the outskirts of town, despite multiple offers from her friends to stay with them. He insists she doesn't want to be a burden... He's content with it anyhow, it's plenty cozy.
He also likes the dumpster because its roof sounds real nice when it rains - an experience she has often, given they're made out of a substance that dissolves in water...
Nigel's... some sort of dog. His family doesn't keep track, which is definitely a trait that got passed down to him, given his unattentiveness and 100% sure-fire case of undiagnosed ADHD. He doesn't have the best control over his emotions and often acts a bit ill-mannered, but he means well and cares a lot about the people he gets to be close with.
Hailing from New Baltimore, he moved to Mulberry with his brother around 9 years ago. He lives on the outskirts of town in an old brick house, with his own room being in the basement. He works for the family fishing business, and spends a lot of his time out on the lake. When he's at home, he's almost always either pacing around his room listening to music, practicing tactical reloads with Nerf guns, or lounging around playing video games. He also really likes to collect things, having several long-running series of shiny objects or big rocks he found.
Everyone else in his direct family still lives in Michigan, and he chose to live with his brother mainly due to the rest being unable to correctly care for him due to either monetary issues or being too absorbed in managing the family business. He doesn't have anything against them or whatnot, but he generally just isn't as close.
